Wanna save money by not paying Neutral Cycle to fix your bike? Wanna know more about how your bike works? Our Fall Bike Repair Workshop Series is designed to help you do just that. We’re holding our first class, covering flat tires, on November 1st.

This Fall, Neutral Cycle is offering a series of bike repair workshops. These classes will cover a number of beginning to intermediate topics on how to keep your bike in tip-top shape. Right now we have two scheduled, one on fixing flats and another on basic maintenance. Keep an eye on our blog and Facebook page, because we hope to add more! Let us know if you have any suggestions for topics you think would be useful.

November 1st: Flat Fix

At Neutral, we fix tons of flats every day. Anyone who’s had a bike has had to deal with them and as long as you have a bike, you’ll continue to have to deal with them. Fixing flats is where every bike mechanic starts. It’s not difficult, but there are some important steps that will ensure your tubes last longer.

In this class you will learn about how to fix a flat properly, how to troubleshoot problems connected to flats, and common flat-changing errors. You’ll even receive a free pair of tire levers (essential to fixing a flat).

  • When: November 1st, 4:00-5:00 pm
  • Where: Neutral Cycle, 624 S. Fifth St., Champaign, IL
  • How much: $15
  • How to register: Come by the shop beforehand, as all participants will need to register and pay in advance.

Those who participate in this first class will get a reduced price for our November 15th class.

November the 15th: Maintenance 101

This class will cover bike parts, how they work, and what you need to do to keep them functioning properly. This class will be the launching point for more focused, in-depth classes on specific repairs like derailleur adjustment and wheel truing. We’ll have more details about this and subsequent workshops in a few weeks’ time.
