It’s that time again! This Saturday, Urbanalove will be screening Miyazaki’s My Neighbor Totoro as part of Comic Con 16.

Summer Movie Nights are about community, fun, and, of course, summer! Come hang out with us and watch a Miyazaki film that’s sure to be enjoyed by people of all ages.

My Neighbor Totoro tells the story of two young girls who move with their father to a rural area to be closer to their ill mother. There they befriend and have adventures with forest spirits. An undisputed modern classic, My Neighbor Totoro has been included in Ebert’s Great Movies list. Like all of Miyazaki’s films, My Neighbor Totoro is full of humanity and imagination, complemented by beautiful animation.

If you’ve never seen one of his works before, this is an ideal introduction. If you have seen other films by him and enjoyed those, you’re won’t be let down by this one. And if you’ve watched My Neighbor Totoro before, then I don’t have to say anything to convince you to join us for another viewing.

Schedule

The film will be screened in the Busey Bank parking lot in Downtown Urbana. This event will be be the cap on a day of activities at the Urbana Free Library’s Comic Con 16, so be sure to check that out before joining us for the movie.
